Activities: Research Assistant
TEM-identification of elementary processes, which govern the evolution of microstructures in Ni-base superalloys. Larissa Heep works as a research assistant on single- and polycrystalline Ni-base superalloys. They are used for the production of turbine blades in gas turbines and are exposed to high temperatures and heavy mechanical loads. In co-operation with Siemens AG Berlin, Larissa Heep investigates additively manufactured polycrystalline superalloys. Different manufacturing parameters and alloy compositions are compared. For this purpose, pores, cracks, grain size and phase formation are considered using various methods on light and scanning electron microscopes. In addition, the mechanical properties of these alloys are evaluated by means of single-axis creep tests. Larissa Heep also participates in SFB/TR 103 (single-crystalline Ni-based superalloys) in projects A1 and A2. The aim is to investigate elementary processes in the high-temperature plasticity of single crystalline superalloys. For this purpose, studies are carried out on defined solidified, heat-treated and pre-deformed samples using transmission electron micros-copy. Within the SFB/TR 103, the task of Larissa Heep is to assist in identifying the physical nature of elementary processes which govern microstructural evolution during heat treatment and creep.
