A learning and working environment shaped by science

We teach our students in an environment shaped by science. This is the result of active research and engaged teaching, something which is recognised and respected by the international scientific community involved in our field. In this scientific climate, the students are confronted with the actual technical, scientific and social problems we face today. Engineers need to be able to evaluate and understand the consequences of technology; they need to appreciate that technical innovation can only make a meaningful contribution to the complete resolution of the problems currently facing our society through integration with the other developments taking place in that society.
